The Face of AIDS by Therese Frare, 1990
I chose this photo because of the impact the AIDS epidemic had on the LGBT community, and I liked this photo also because of the raw emotions it lets you see. David Kirby is seen on the far left of the photo on his deathbed. He died at the age of 32 from AIDS. This picture was used in an advertisement from Benneton to raise awareness for AIDS. Benneton using the photo created a lot of controversy, people thought that they were capitalizing on the death of another person, and using this painful photo to make money.

Therese Frare attended Ohio State University, and was born in 1973 in Seattle.
