Merger Shoot Preview

1. The photo has the panoramic effect where the background is warped. I also worried about blocking myself or the pictures not lining up completely and shadows in the picture. 2. I am looking for a picture that has a even background/something that the images will be easier to lineup. I will also need some markers in the background to where I place myself to avoid blocking. 3. I want to do myself having a conversation with myself or me all sitting at a lunch table if it to work. 4. I want to wear something that is a mono-color to help me stand out from my background and look more uniform. i feel like a skirt could add some dynamic to the photos and give them a more relaxed feel for me.

HDR Photoshoot

HDR Photography

1. To get an HDR image you will need to get different exposers of the same photo. To get different exposers you will have to manipulate the camera settings so that you can capture the darkest and lightest renderings. 2. We will need a camera that has an AED function, a tripod, and a software that can make the HDR images. 3. Someone might want to take an HDR image because they want to capture the best light parts and the best dark parts in the photo that they can't capture with just one frame. 4. We could see when we join the images that some of the details that got lost in the lighter images and darker images are there.

portfolio notes

1. - Jordan Morph - Sports - they didn't like the positioning of the ball in the golf photo, the wave photo needed a focus point, and the picture with the sleeping guy didn't show much and was out of place. - they like the composition and lighting of most of the photos - I liked the photos in the beginning and i think that they were really strong, but he didn't have a lot of those. - Sam Adams - BMX - they wanted more action in the BMX photos instead of just pictures of them on their bikes, and they wanted more focus and better cropping/framing - They liked the photos with the silhouettes and the black/white photos - I liked the action in his BMX shots, but he could have framed things better. - Carlos Delgado - Mixed - the backgrounds where muddy, and they needed to do color correction, they also didn't use the black/white properly. - they liked the content of the 1st story and the football  photo. - I liked the first story but not much else from the gu

Final Exam Planning

I have already shot and done videos for my project, I documented the March For Our Lives walk to the capitol.         I am planning on going in order from start to finish of the March, and make it so the viewer feels like they went there with me. I have at least 6 minutes of video and around 600 photos to choose from that go from start to finish.         My plan is to have the pictures that go with the videos going in succession of the actual event. So I have videos of the beginning of the March where people are rallying and I want to put the videoclips in with the photos and go in chronological order from the start of the March to the end.        For narration I am planning on doing it in the beginning and saying what day it was, what the march was for, and how many people showed up. I want to stay away from saying anything on my political opinion, and just state the facts that are associated with the March.

Harmful LGBT+ Representation in the Media

LGBT+ representation in the media, specifically on your TV screens and in your local movie theaters has always been skim. Usually if there is a gay character they are seen as the "funny sidekick" or the "sad and repressed outcast". If there is a gay relationship it is over-sexualized and fetishized, such as in "Queer as Folk", "The L Word", and "Blue is the Warmest Color".          For me, I see this representation as extremely harmful. It hurts to see that that is how the media sees your community, that all we are to movie producers is a diversity card, or something they can use to sell more tickets or get higher ratings.        The worst part about queer movies is how we are sexualized on TV. Often times when they do this they aren't just sexualizing adults, they are sexualizing teens. This happens in more than one  queer TV show or movie out there too, just a few that I can name are "Closet Monster&

Personal Essays

1. I want to write a controversial piece on LGBT+ representation in the media and on TV. 2. To keep the story relatable and provide examples with your opinion and to be specific with what I am writing. 3. Personal essays by definition contain a personal perspective. You should be there. Watch your construction. If every sentence begins “I”, you need to rephrase to provide a better rhythm and pace to your piece. Make connections. If you’re writing about a global theme (poverty, unemployment, child abuse) bring the subject closer to home by relating it to specific, individual examples. If you’re writing about more mundane subjects (left-hand turn signals, the search for the best French Fries, your daughter’s graduation) again, set your views against a wider backdrop or perspective so the reader can relate to it. Think of your essay as a camera lens. You might start by describing a fine detail (your personal experience or perspective, a specific moment in the narrative), then open u

Opinions Writing Preview Activity

Apple reaches new low with batteries   1. Who wrote the story? Ian Miller  2. What is their story about? Apple devices batteries purposely failing.  3. What is their direct opinion about that topic? Please quote it directly from the story or do a really good job of paraphrasing. "The way I see it Apple's goal with these updates aren't to protect the battery, but rather to promote its newer iPhone models."  4. Did they address what the other side might think about their topic? No 5. Were they wishy-washy with their opinion? By this I mean did they ever go back and say well maybe if this were to happen, then their opinion wouldn't be valid. Support your opinion. Yes, they gave some things that Apple could have done instead of slowing down the phones, like providing new battery replacements, or letting the customer know upfront what the updates were doing.  6. Are there any quotes in the story? No direct quotes.  7. What point of view did t
