portfolio notes
1.
- Jordan Morph
- Sports
- they didn't like the positioning of the ball in the golf photo, the wave photo needed a focus point, and the picture with the sleeping guy didn't show much and was out of place.
- they like the composition and lighting of most of the photos
- I liked the photos in the beginning and i think that they were really strong, but he didn't have a lot of those.
- Sam Adams
- BMX
- they wanted more action in the BMX photos instead of just pictures of them on their bikes, and they wanted more focus and better cropping/framing
- They liked the photos with the silhouettes and the black/white photos
- I liked the action in his BMX shots, but he could have framed things better.
- Carlos Delgado
- Mixed
- the backgrounds where muddy, and they needed to do color correction, they also didn't use the black/white properly.
- they liked the content of the 1st story and the football photo.
- I liked the first story but not much else from the guy.
- Justin Mott
- Story capturing
- They wanted more focus and a lot of his selective focus photos didn't quite hit the mark.
- they liked a majority of his photos and felt like he was using his space properly
- I liked pretty much everything from this guy, over all he was the best I saw.
2.
- the judges liked how close he was to the action, and how he managed to make everyone in the photo be doing something.
- I feel like all the photos told a story with them, and like all of them had a purpose to them.
3. They decided the winner on overall story composition and material, and the amount of strong pictures that the photographer had. Also they decided based on verity in the photos.
Part 2
1. I agree with the judges on the goose picture because its a moment that you have to be ready to photograph and the photographer did a great job
2. I disagree with the judges on the swimming photo of the push off the wall under water, I feel like that should have won over the boxing photo because the background was cleaner and it was more pleasing aesthetically.
