Nut Graf

    The "Nut Graf" in a story is usually the second paragraph, and contains the news value information in a story. In a feature story it might be included later on and will explain what the story is about.
    The nutgraf is used also to explain some key points in a story. Some of the main functions of it are; to justify why someone should care about what the story is about, it tells the readers why the story is timely, and tells readers why the story is important.
